FACES OF THE CRIPPLED/ FLIGHTLESS GEESE
During our visits, we noticed a fairly large number of geese with crippling wing and foot injuries. There were geese with broken wings caused by collisions with power lines, geese with hunter inflicted body and wing wounds, geese with foot injuries caused by fishing lines, hooks, and snapping turtles, and geese with various other injuries. Most of these geese are unable to fly out to feed and depend on the kindness of visitors to survive.
